It's that time of the year again, folks. We're not even talking about the Oscar awards season. It's the Super Bowl, baby. What else?

While a bunch of teams that aren't yours battle it out for gridiron supremacy, we're going to help you lock down some of the best bets and odds in our all-around guide on how to bet on the Super Bowl.

Now let's take a look at some odds, shall we?

Super Bowl LVII Betting Odds

  • Philadelphia Eagles +240
  • Cincinnati Bengals +250

Last year we hit on our Same Game Parlay: a Cooper Kupp TD, Stafford to throw over 270 yards, and the Rams to win. We even managed to get the color of the Gatorade poured on the coach right, with blue being an outside shot.

So, what we're saying is—stick with us if you want to learn how to bet on the Super Bowl the right way.

Super Bowl Betting Odds: The Favorites Preview

In this section, we'll analyze each of the “favorites'” chances of winning the big game and whether we think they're worth backing or not. Hang on to your seat belt for some disgustingly hot takes. You've been warned.

Philadelphia Eagles +240 @ Bovada

The Philadelphia Eagles were probably the best team in the league this year, earning a 14-1 record while Hurts was under center. They also had one the most aesthetically pleasing and fluid offenses in the league, with an incredible defense to match.

All that said, they weren’t considered the favorites from the get-go—not even close. But things have changed now.

Verdict: They Might Win. Consider a Bet!

Cincinnati Bengals +250 @ BetOnline

The Bengals won it all last year, and this year they've improved on a lot of what was bringing them down. You'll remember Joey B was a punching bag for the league, taking a lot of sacks on his way to the Super Bowl.

This year he's been protected a whole lot better and also managed to help himself with better awareness in the pocket.

That being said, there are more than a few question marks about this Bengals outfit. A lot of people aren't sold on Zac Taylor, and the squad—particularly the o-line—has been decimated by injuries. Joey Cool, Chase, and Co. can get hot on offense in seconds, but will they be able to do it when it matters?

Verdict: We Don’t Believe in Two Consecutive Super Bowl Titles

Kansas City Chiefs +280 @ Bovada

The early favorites are here for a reason.

Not only do they have one of the best coaches in the game in the form of Andy Reid, but they also have Patrick Mahomes.

He's the most likely regular season MVP winner and, according to the bookmakers, the most likely Super Bowl MVP too. They have the best offense in the league, and every time they play, they are liable to put up big points. A lot can happen in the game of gridiron, but +280 might even be classed as “generous” odds for this Kansas City outfit.

Verdict: Paddy and Andy Might Just Deliver for Kansas Again

San Francisco 49ers +310 @ BetOnline

Stop us if you've heard this one before. A San Francisco backup quarterback replaces an injured starter toward the end of the season and then leads the team deep into the playoffs, breaking records along the way, only to eventually fall in a tightly contested Super Bowl.

Pretty nuts, huh? Well, guys, it could happen again, and not only with a backup, but with a rookie, and not just ANY rookie, literally the last pick of the NFL draft.

Brock Purdy is either an incredibly gifted diamond in the rough or a product of the Shanahan system of gridiron—it really depends on who you ask. Either way, these guys have a good shot at winning it all. Because of the system. Or Christian McCaffrey. Maybe.

Verdict: Rookie QBs Don't Win Super Bowls, God Damn It

Super Bowl Teams Eliminated

In this section, we'll be analyzing the most notable teams that were eliminated from the NFL playoffs.

Buffalo Bills (Eliminated)

If you're a fan of all-rounders and even-handed approaches, then Buffalo Bills may well be your pick for the Super Bowl this year.

Whereas their lackluster defense makes Kansas a little lopsided, the Bills have a fantastic offense, ranked fourth in scoring, as well as a top-five defense in both defending the pass and the rush. They also have a freak of a unicorn quarterback named Josh Allen, who's always an x-factor—similar to Mahomes.

Dallas Cowboys (Eliminated)

So, how about them Cowboys? They absolutely decimated Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Dak Prescott has been almost perfect since coming back from injury. We say almost for a reason.

This little nugget of a stat is interesting. If you take away turnovers, Prescott is matching Mahomes in EPA for play. But, if you take away turnovers, it's not quite Sunday lunch at your Aunt Sally's anymore, either. So you can take that stat with a grain of salt. Or sugar.

New York Giants (Eliminated)

Danny Dimes, eh? Can you believe it? It seems like only yesterday when the whole of Nashville was laughing/booing the Giants' first-round pick. But the former Blue Devils quarterback has come good. It's been a rocky road, and a lot of credit must and will go to coach Brian Daboll—but here we are in 2023, and the Giants are back in the postseason.

Of course, the actual Super Bowl itself may be a step too far for now, but there's a great core here with fantastic futures in the league. If they hold on to Daniel Jones and equip him with some weapons next year, along with a competent defense to boot—watch out.

Jacksonville Jaguars (Eliminated)

Trevor Lawrence had a shaky start to his NFL career, through no real fault of his own. The usual rookie caveats applied, plus being burdened with a terrible coach.

Now that the stink of Urban Meyer has been thoroughly washed off him, he looks like a man ready to be who he's supposed to be: one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

Doug Pederson will take a lot of credit for the Jags' season this year, which he should do, but some uncomfortable facts remain. They got here via the AFC South (ew) and one of the easiest schedules in the league.

Super Bowl MVP Odds

There are a lot of games and downs to be played here until we get to this point, but it's always fun to sit around and speculate. Let's look at some early playoff Super Bowl MVP candidates.

Patrick Mahomes +350

We believe the likely winner of the regular season MVP is also the likely winner of the Super Bowl MVP, at least as far as these odds go. He's pretty much considered the favorite, and it's difficult to argue against, given the season he's had in Kansas.

>> Bet on Patrick Mahomes to become this year’s Super Bowl MVP

Jalen Hurts +240

How long is a season? In sports narrative terms, a very long time. It wasn't long ago Hurts was being dismissed as a glorified runner and a quarterback who was unable to throw.

Now he's an MVP candidate and probably would have won if not for his late-season injuries. Philly has stars on the other side of the ball who may be eligible here, but it's difficult to look beyond Hurts at the QB position.

>> Bet on Jalen Hurts to be the Super Bowl MVP

Brock Purdy +700

This is the first entry on the list that smells a little off. It would be an incredible feat if Brock Purdy not only led the Niners to the Super Bowl, but also triumphed and came out with the MVP.

There are a lot of other candidates on the Niners team who could win this. It's not impossible, but we'd want better odds for the bet.

>> Bet on Brock Purdy to be the Super Bowl MVP

Our Pick for Super Bowl MVP: Christian McCaffrey +1300

If you're going to have a bet this far out, at least make it fun. Christian McCaffrey has a legitimate shot at winning the MVP because he is the Niners' focal point on offense. Usually, it's the QB, and make no mistake, Brock Purdy has done a damn fine job for a “Mr. Irrelevant” rookie QB.

But it's CMac who runs the show in San Francisco, perhaps literally. The odds of +1300 are just too good a value to pass up.

>> Consider our advice and place a bet on Christian McCaffrey to be this year’s Super Bowl MVP
